Since 2006, Bergvik Sweden has been our go-to supplier for raised access flooring in our data centres. They deliver very high quality in terms of both materials and service, and I am convinced that their Iso Floor construction will become standard in all data centres, just as it already is in electrical rooms.
Erik Kjellin lists the main advantages of Iso Floor:
- Flexible design.
- The size of the floor tiles was adapted to our server racks, which meant that we did not lock any floor tiles in front of or behind the server racks.
- All floor tiles can be removed without compromising the stability of the floor.
- Ample space under the floor for cable routing, not a ‘forest’ of leg supports like conventional installation floors. Cable ladders are mounted on brackets, which are easily attached to the floor legs.
- No expensive welded steel frames were needed for HVAC, UPSs and electrical equipment; these were simply placed on the Iso Floor construction.
- We also used Iso Floor for all electrical rooms in the same project.The order included construction drawings so that we could easily plan other installations.
- Easy to adjust and reinforce, should point reinforcement be required in the future.
- Half the installation time compared to traditional installation floors.

Availo Datacenter is built with the latest technology to minimise power losses and with the environment in mind. Availo's facilities maintain a very high standard when it comes to power supply, cooling, security and fire protection. The data centre has the ability to deploy backup power in the form of diesel generators for each electrical system, to ensure continued operation in the event of a power failure.
