Iso Floor - Specifications
TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION
The floor consists of a prefabricated steel framework, which is bolted
together. The tubular sections measure 3x11/2 inch (80 x 40 mm). The structural
pedestal supports, made from the same section, can be adjusted +1 inch
(+25 mm) from the nominal floor height. All structural pedestal supports,
supporting sections and assembly parts, are zinc plated according to Swedish
Standard (Zn 8 or higher).
TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS
Iso Floors flexibility is of great value as it simplifies planning for
the end user during the building process. The floor is adapted to the
equipment with Auto Cad technology. A finished floor installation drawing
based on an equipment floorplan is presented to the customer for approval
before production of the order (see below).

QUICK ASSEMBLY
The support framework is quickly and easily screwed together on location.
The pedestal supports are delivered pre-assembled from the factory together
with the sections and assembly parts packed separately. The floor panels,
which are laid on top of the secondary sections can easily be removed
by means of a lifting tool which is supplied with each delivery.
EXTRA REINFORCEMENT
In electrical rooms, where transformers at times are situated, a permanent
steel support frame that can carry loads up to 13000 lbs (6 000 kg) is
offered as an option. The load bearing beams are dimensioned for a downward
deflection of less than 0.33% of each span as a standard. When necessary,
the transformer support frames can be provided with panels and inserted
ventilation air grilles. If moving a transformer in or out of a room for
some reason, the floor panels should be covered with hardboard or steel
plate. This precaution is to prevent the transformer wheels from damaging
the edges of the panels during crossing.
LOADING CRITERIA
The flexible and adaptable Iso Floor construction allows for uniform distributed
loads UDL between 103 - 1030 lbs/sf (5 - 50 kN/m2). Lx, Ly and Lz are
the factors, which decide the distributed load.
As a rule, 8kN/m2 (162 lbs/sf) is used as a standard, and is recommended
to always specify the loading criteria when planning a project.
To ensure correct dimensioning of Iso Floor, we have developed an advanced
Excel calculation program. A complete analysis can be obtained on request.
TEXT BELOW MAY BE COPIED
Raised flooring
Floor panels shall be type Bergvik Laminate or equivalent, listed by ETL,
USA in accordance with ASTM E84. Flame spread to be max 40.
Raised floor steel substructure / staging shall be Iso Floor or equivalent,
with a flexible construction of 80x40 mm (3 x 1*") rectangular tube
sections in a primary and secondary layer bolted together.
